Interested in being a TA Wizard? Now is your chance!
Forestry's new and returning TAs are welcome to join our advanced workshop for Teaching Assistants on 2024 January 26, 10:30 AM - 3:00 PM in FSC (CAWP) 2916 Case Room. This workshop is designed based on the valuable feedback from the TA needs assessment survey. The training will be delivered by our own Forestry TA Training Coordinators (a team of your peers), and special guest speakers.
This workshop will provide TAs with the skills and knowledge to:
- Understand the TA's role & expectations
- Build an excellent and inclusive teaching environment
- Use Teaching technologies & tools
- Handle conflicts & difficult situations
- Maintain mental health & well-being at UBC
- Access TA resources
You must be a Forestry TA in 2023W2 and not have already participated our previous TA training in 2023W1.
Only 30 spots are available. A $150 honorarium will be included. Lunch and snacks will be available. After successfully completing the workshop, participants will receive a certificate. For questions, please contact forestry.tls@ubc.ca.
