Supervisor Guidelines for MUSIC Program Student Nominations

To nominate your students for the MUSIC program, please note that primary candidates should be engineers with experience in biotechnology and biology.
Selected students must take two anchor courses in the MUSIC program:
 
 • Biomedical Data Fundamentals (BMEG 591N)
 • ML in Medicine (BMEG 591T)

 Additionally: 
 
 • Students lacking a strong programming background will be required to complete SBME’s self-directed Coding Boot Camp (40 hours) within two months of accepting their offer, as well as CPSC 330 (Applied Machine Learning) in Term 1.


Supervisor Responsibility

Commit to supporting the MUSIC program by committing to participating in one of our seminar or professional development courses (guest lectures, mentoring, etc.).

Submission Requirements

Please submit one form per trainee nominated.

Trainee level

Each trainee applicant can access and complete a voluntary self-identification form through the following link. Please note that entry to this form will be kept confidential. If a supervisor is filling out this form, please forward the link to your trainee.

Supervisor Commitment

It is expected that supervisors of awardees in the MUSIC program help contribute to teaching and administrative activities of the program. Please indicate one or more activities the supervisor would be interested in and committed to contributing towards. 
If the trainee is not selected for funding support, would it still be of interest for them to be admitted to the MUSIC program and participate in program activities?
