Course Conflict Requests
Course conflicts may happen with your upper year courses, especially with capstone or project courses. Course conflicts are discouraged where possible, and we encourage you to review your schedule to see if courses can be accommodated without any conflicts. Many UBC departments do not permit course conflicts, particularly Math and Commerce. First year engineering students are not permitted to register in course conflicts..
Course conflicts can only be processed if you:
1. Obtain permission and signatures from all course instructors involved in the conflicting courses (please see exceptions list)
2. You have signed the APSC course conflict registration form
3. There are seats available in the course you are trying to register in.
4. Forms submitted after the add/drop period, will also need the approval of your academic advisor.
Please be mindful that it is the student’s responsibility to ensure success in both courses and plan their schedule around the conflict.
Note: requests take 7-10 business days to process.
Please fill out the Course Conflict form and attach it below. Form must be signed by both professors. You do not need a signature in the "Faculty Approval" section, as this will be done after submission.
